Attorney Katherine Varlas of Silvis, IL; slacker

The state of Illinois presented Katherine Ann Varlas with a law license in 1990.

The Disciplinary Commission found Kathy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Improperly communicated with person represented by counsel
• Acquired proprietary interest in client’s pending cause of action
• Failed to obtain prior consent from client re: conflict of interest

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Oscar by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (March 2017), Kathy practices with Pepping, Balk, Kincaid & Olson Ltd. at 105 Seventh Street in Silvis, Illinois.
