Attorney Joseph Vitell of Chicago; thieving fraudster

The state of Illinois presented Joseph A. Vitell with a law license in 1969 after he graduated from Valparaiso University Law School.

The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Joey guilty of the following misconduct.

Over the period of eight (8) years, Joey received and negotiated workers’ compensation disability checks for a dead man, deducted his fee, and sent the balance to the man’s widow. He signed the decedent’s name to the checks pursuant to a power of attorney that he created after the man’s death.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary 5-month suspension of his law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in Illinois are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else Joey was never criminally charged with grand theft, fraud and/or forgery.

As we speak (February 2017), Joey practices with Vitell & Spitz Ltd. at 155 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.
