Attorney Cecil Nolan Jr. of Stuttgart, AR; ethical gremlin

The state of Arkansas presented Cecil Nolan Jr. with a law license in 1989.

The Disciplinary Commission found Cecil guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Cecil sent private investigators into the state to pose as customers and gather evidence of intellectual property infringement.

Cecil hired the hired the investigators in connection with a suit he filed alleging that a South Carolina business was selling a product that infringed the intellectual property rights of his client. (Debra Cassens Weiss)

Cecil’s investigators made false statements to the employees of the business he was suing and used tactics that were designed to prod the employees into making statements about the product. In addition, the conversations were tape-recorded without any notice given to the employees.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme Court punished Cecil by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. October 2017), Cecil practices at 411 South Main Street in Stuttgart, Arkansas.
