Attorney Theresa Racht of New York City; convicted tax cheat

The state of New York presented Theresa Racht with a law license in 1986 after she graduated from Syracuse University Law School.

The Departmental Disciplinary Committee found Terry guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Terry respondent pleaded guilty in Criminal Court of the City of New York, New York County, to two counts of criminal tax fraud in the fifth degree, a class A misdemeanor, for failure to file tax returns and pay New York State and New York City personal income taxes for two years.

Subsequently, Terry was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge, a fine of $20,000 and a mandatory $250 surcharge. She was also ordered to pay $105,833 for outstanding taxes to  New York State and New York City for personal income taxes.

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Departmental Disciplinary Committee punished Terry by gifting her with a complimentary 6-month suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2017), Terry practices at 7 Penn Plaza in New York, New York.
