Attorney John O’Brien of New York City; convicted tax cheat

The state of New York presented John Joseph O’Brien with a law license in 1995 after he graduated New York University (NYU) Law School.

The Departmental Disciplinary Committee found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Johnny was charged in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, with two counts of failing to file United States income tax returns for three consecutive years, and two counts of willfully failing to pay income tax.

Subsequently, Johnny pleaded guilty to all four counts, and was sentenced to a period of incarceration of 28 months, followed by one year of supervised release.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Departmental Disciplinary Committee punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2017), Johnny practices at 36 East Third Street in New York, New York.
