Attorney Jeffrey Werthan of Issaquah, WA; idiot, slacker

The state of Washington presented Jeffrey M. Werthan with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of West Los Angeles Law School.

West LA Law School is a 4^th tier school that is dedicated to accepting losers that could not get accepted into mainstream law schools like UCLA, UC Davis or the University of Washington.

The Washington State Bar found Jeff guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Doug!)
• Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of matter
• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
• Failed to deliver will to court in timely fashion
• Failed to provide required notice of the appointment of the personal representative or publish required notices to creditors finding
• Probate court made specific that Jeff’s negligent and reckless actions in the handling of the estate were a substantial factor in the suspicions and mistrust among family members

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Jeff by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
