Attorney Barry Gordon of Wilmette, IL; ethical dwarf

The state of Illinois presented Barry L. Gordon with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from

Chicago-Kent College of Law.

The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Barry guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in overreaching regarding the attorney/client relationship
• Failed to withdraw from employment when his professional judgment on behalf of a client may be affected by his own personal interest
• Engaged in conduct tending to defeat the administration of justice or to bring the courts or legal profession into disrepute

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Barry by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Barry.
