Attorney Charles Steele of Pittsburgh, PA; convicted fraudster

The state of Pennsylvania presented Charles Ellis Steele 1982 with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Temple University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Charlie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Found guilty in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania of 11 counts of mail fraud and four counts of obstruction of justice
  • Made a false statement to a tribunal
  • Gave false evidence to a court,
  • Made false statements to others
  • Engaged in the unlawful practice of law
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Charlie by gifting him, with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license effective June 2016.

As we speak (ca. January 2017), Charlie will again practice at 428 Forbes Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania beginning in June 2017.
