Judge Steven Perskie of Atlantic City; liar, lifetime porker and ethical gnome

Judge Steven Perskie dedicated the vast majority of his insignificant life porking out at the public trough.

In late 2009 the Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct filed an ethics complaint against Judge Perskie, which contained the following charges.

In the 2005 case that came before Judge Perskie, Alan Rosefielde was sued by Atlantic City’s Flagship Resort after the company fired him as its CEO. Rosefielde claimed in his lawsuit that one-time resort insurance broker Edward DiNicolantonio (aka, Eddie DeNic) threatened a bad revaluation of the condo complex unless it rehired his nephew’s insurance firm, Frank J. Siracusa and Son.

Judge Perskie never revealed his long-standing personal and business relationship with Frank Siracusa to Rosefielde’s attorney. Put simply, Perskie violated his oath of office by failing to immediately remove himself from the case. Eventually, the case was assigned to another judge; however, Perskie personally attended the trial in an overt attempt to influence the outcome in favor of his friend Siracusa.

The commission found that Judge Perskie “demonstrated a lack of candor” when testifying before the New Jersey Senate Judiciary Committee. Put simply, they found that he repeated lied under oath.

Judge Perskie admitted that were discrepancies between the facts and his testimony before the Senate committee. Perskie then had the chutzpah to say, “But to extend that unintended error into a suggestion that I intentionally misled the Judiciary Committee is inaccurate and unfair.” Not just a liar, but a dumb liar!

State Sen. Jennifer Beck, who posed questions to Judge Perskie said, “It certainly appears as though he may have perjured himself before the Judiciary Committee. We can’t have folks who are going to serve on our judiciary telling falsehoods just so they can get approval.”

Rather than wait for the Supreme Court to toss him from the bench, Judge Perskie did what any self-respecting loser would do, he retired from the bench on Feb 1, 2010. This will allow Perskie to receive an annual pension of about $100,000 a year for the balance of his useless life.

Of course since Judicial Misfits are held to a lower standard of conduct then we are, Judge Perskie was never charged with perjury regarding his false testimony before the State Senate.
