Judge Michael Brennan of Brooklyn, NY; bully, lifetime porker

The state of New York presented Michael J. Brennan with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from St. John’s University Law School.

Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch was duped into appointing Mike to a seat on the New York City Criminal in 1984. Mike didn’t get the appointment because he was the most qualified lawyer in the greater New York City area. He got it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

Mike has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the forty-three years (1973-2016). Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the Brooklyn area was about to offer Mike a good paying job.

The New York Commission on Judicial Conduct found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

• Made inflammatory and highly improper statements about a defendant
• Improper comments towards defendant exhibited opinion defendant was guilty
• Improperly elicited incriminating responses from defendant
• Knowingly distorted arraignment process
• Improper comments made with intent to pander to public in ongoing campaign for a seat on the Supreme Court
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to act in a dignified and courteous manner towards parties appearing before him
• As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. November 2016) Mike continues to sit as New York State Supreme Court judge in Brooklyn, New York.
