Attorney James Shoaf of Columbus, IN; lying slacker

The state of Indiana provided Ben Tyler Caughey with a law license in 1987.

The Indiana Disciplinary Commission found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  1. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  2. Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  3. Failed to explain matter to allow client to make informed decisions re: representation
  4. Failed to advance client appeals
  5. Negligence led Court of Appeals to dismiss client appeals
  6. Failed to notify clients appeal had been dismissed
  7. Lied to client appeal dismissed due to technicality

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2016), Jimmy practices in Columbus, Indiana.
