The State of South Carolina presented Darren S. Haley with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from Washington and Lee University Law School.
Disciplinary Counsel of the South Carolina Supreme Court found Darren guilty of the following misconduct.

Failed to safely maintain client file causing it to be lost

Failed to file and serve notice of appeal on client’s behalf

Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

Failed to promptly deliver funds owing to client

Failed to take steps to protect client interests

Engaged in conduct tending to pollute the administration of justice

Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme punished Darren by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. November 2016), Darren practices at 1007 Pendleton in Greenville, South Carolina.
