Justice Leland DeGrasse of NY; enabler for Judicial Misfits; lifetime porker  
Justice Leland DeGrasse unfortunately sits as an appellate judge in Manhattan. Since receiving his law license in 1974, Leland has dedicated his so-called legal career to porking out at the public trough. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in New York City was about to offer this Dufus a well-paying job as an associate or partner. Can you blame them?
In the recent past, many members of the public are or have demanded that the process of disciplining judges be open to public scrutiny. In fact, the New York State Legislature will consider a proposal this year to open secret judicial-discipline hearings to the public.
Judicial-discipline hearings are public in 35 states; however, they’ve been kept secret under state law for more than 30 years.
Many so-called judges in New York State that insist on keeping discipline hearings secret and closed to the public that pays his and their unwarranted salaries.
Justice DeGrasse is one of the enablers for Judicial Misfits that is lobbying to keep judicial-disciplinary hearings secret. Leland justifies this undemocratic policy by saying, “I don’t think the judges who are exonerated in that fashion [secret hearings] should have to work with a cloud hanging over their head.”
Of course DeGrasse fails to admit that these “secret proceedings” are presided over by judges and lawyers with a smattering of so-called lay persons.
Hopefully, the New York Legislature will exhibit the necessary courage and fortitude to prohibit secret hearings in the future. If its secrecy that DeGrasse and his cohorts seek, then I’d suggest they move to some democratic country like Libya North Korea.
