Attorney Susan Borg of San Mateo, CA; lying loser

The state of California provided Susan Randi Borg with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from the University of San Francisco Law School.

The California State Bar Court found Suzie guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Suzie missed the deadline to file her client's appeal of the Social Security Administration's denial of his disability claim. She told the client to contact SSA directly, saying the agency would be more sympathetic to him and was more likely to grant an extension.

A week later, however, she sent a letter to the SSA stating that her failure to file the appeal on time was due to the client's failure to timely obtain representation. She included two documents signed by her and the client, but she altered the dates to reflect a hiring date three months later than the true date.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Suzie by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Bar Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Suzie.
