Attorney Isaac Smith of Honolulu; ethical elf, serial offender

The state of Hawaii provided Isaac K. Smith with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of Hawaii Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Isaac guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Isaac knowingly violated the rules when he intentionally deposited $14,361.26 of personal funds into his First Hawaiian Bank client trust account. Shortly thereafter, Isaac issued a $12,168.67 check from the client trust account to the management company of his rental unit, for partial payment of maintenance fees, late fees, lease rent, and attorneys’ fees and costs for which he was in arrears, and transmitted the check to the management company.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Isaac’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received two (2) complimentary reprimands for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Counsel punished Isaac by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. October 2016), Isaac practices at 1188 Bishop Street in Honolulu, Hawaii.
