Attorney Laurence Sutley of Summerdale, AL; convicted felon

The state of Alabama presented Laurence Peter Sutley with law license in 1977 after he graduated from the Birmingham School of Law.

The Alabama State Bar Association found Larry guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Larry was convicted in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama of four counts of mail fraud, two counts of wire fraud and one count of obstruction of justice.

Subsequently, Larry was sentenced to 27 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. In addition, he was fined $50,000 and ordered to forfeit his interest in various properties.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Alabama Supreme Court punished Larry by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2016), Larry practices in Summerdale, Alabama.
