Attorney Benjamin Friedman of Columbus, OH; cheating druggie

The State of Ohio presented Benjamin Stuart Friedman with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from the University of Illinois Law School.

The Columbus Bar Association found Benny guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
• Charged or collected clearly illegal or excessive fee (crook)
• Failed to promptly return unearned fees upon withdrawal as counsel
• Neglected entrusted legal matter
• Failed to maintain client funds in interest-bearing trust account
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to maintain complete records of client funds
• Failed to provide client with accounting of client funds
• Engaged in illegal practice of law while license suspended
• Arrested for possession of cocaine

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme punished Benny by gifting him with a complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license. 

As we speak (ca. September 2016) Benny practices with the Friedman Law Offices at 85 East Gay Street in Columbus, Ohio.
