The State of South Carolina presented John R. Cantrell Jr. with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel of the South Carolina Supreme Court found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Johnny pled guilty one count of failure to make and file a South Carolina Income Tax return. He was subsequently sentenced to imprisonment for one year and fined $10,000, provided that the sentence would be suspended upon the payment of $1,000, costs, and assessments. and probation for one year.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2016) Johnny practices with Cantrell Legal PC in Goose Creek, South Carolina.
