The state of California presented Matthew P. Todd with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from the University of LaVerne Law School in Los Angeles.

 

The California State Bar Court found Matty guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Prior to the two (2) disciplinary matters set forth below, the State Bar Court gifted Matty with two (2) reprovals for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

 

Matty’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Repeatedly used client trust account to pay personal expenses

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Matty by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

 

Matty’s 4th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

  • Failed to perform legal services competently (moron)
  • Failed to maintain client funds in trust
  • Failed to respond to client inquiries
  • Failed to keep clients informed of significant developments in their cases
  • Improperly withdrew from representation
  • Misappropriated (stole) client funds
  • Engaged in the illegal practice of law while license suspended
  • Failed to submit client’s medical bills to insurance carrier
  • Failed to engage in settlement negotiations
  • Falsely told court case had been settled
  • Falsely told his client matter was near settlement
  • Failed to tell his client his case had been dismissed
  • Admitted that he misappropriated (stole) $10,000 of client money

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Matty by gifting him with a complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. August 2016), Matty practices with Todd & Associates at 21152 South Western Avenue in Torrance, California, which is located in Los Angeles County.
