Attorney Mario Vasquez of New York City; guilty of forgery

The state of New York presented Mario Alberto Vasquez with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from New York University (NYU) Law School.

The District of Columbia Court of Appeals found Mario guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflected on fitness as a lawyer
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Forged memorandum purportedly issued by city agency authorizing a salary increase for Mario

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Appellate Division Disciplinary Panel punished Mario by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in New York are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Mario was never criminally charged for forgery.

As we speak (ca. August 2016), Mario practices at 20 Vesey Street in New York, New York.
