Attorney Jill Epstein of Brooklyn, NY; slacker

The state of New York presented Jill R. Epstein with a law license in 1984 after she graduated from Cardoza Law School.

The Appellate Division Disciplinary Panel found Jill guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Jill!)
• Failed to maintain trust account receipts and disbursement books
• Failed to keep running cash balance in trust account book
• Failed to maintain client trust ledger sheets
• Failed to prepare schedule of clients’ ledger and account
• Failed to reconcile client ledger accounts
• Failed to promptly disburse nearly $15,00 to client and third parties

As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Appellate Division Disciplinary Panel punished Jill by gifting her with a complimentary censure.
