Should Irish/German honkey be disqualified from owning Asian Grocery Store?

This Dawg has been married for forty-five (45) years to a first generation Korean immigrant. The result of which led to three pretty attractive daughters (took after their Mother of course.)

Living in Toledo, Ohio deprived my wife of any opportunity to purchase imported Asian groceries to satisfy her palate. As a result, I was forced to drive 250 miles to Chicago so that she could purchase the necessities of life, which included (a) fresh tuna for Sushi, (b) live crabs, (c) fresh squid, and (d) dry seaweed, fresh tofu, etc.

That would be the Irish/German honkey pictured to the right displaying his angst at being openly discriminated against by White ladies shopping at the Asian grocery store he owned and operated.

Eventually I tired of the 500 mile roundtrip and decided along with my wife (as you know, a spouse’s prior authorization is a prerequisite for such things, or anything for that matter) to open the first Asian grocery store in good ol' Toledo, Ohio.

Being located in Toledo (Northwest Ohio) we attracted customers from western Indiana, Southern Michigan, areas close to Cleveland and West Virginia. Eventually, we carried over 5,000 items dedicated to serving clientele from China, India, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Jamaica, Africa and other countries too numerous to mention herein.

Occasionally, some American ladies (white folks, round-eyes) would come to the store. It was not unusual for the following colloquy to take place at the register:

White Lady:      Are you the owner of this store?

White Boy:       Yes I am.

White Lady:     But you’re not Chinese. (in Toledo all Asians were considered to be Chinese by the local gentry)

White Boy:      I wish you wouldn’t have said that.

White Lady:    Why?

White Boy:      Because Mom and Dad always told me I was.

Now we know the dilemma facing an Irish/German Boy owning and operating an Asian Grocery store in Toledo, Ohio.

If not being Chinese was in fact a recognized disqualifier, then why wasn’t Tom Monaghan, an Irish Catholic from Ann Arbor, Michigan barred from owning and operating Domino’s Pizza when he wasn’t Italian?
