Attorney A. Michael Gebo of Canton, NY; ethical gremlin

The state of New York presented A. Michael Gebo with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the Albany Law School.

The Appellate Division Disciplinary Panel found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Converted client funds
  • Attempted to mislead and deceive his client
  • Drew checks on escrow account before corresponding deposit credited to account
  • Failed to deposit funds into IOLA account
  • Improperly allowed non-attorney to be authorized signatory on escrow account
  • Failed to promptly to pay settlement funds to a client
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Appellate Division Disciplinary Panel punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. July 2016), Mike practices with the District Attorney’s Office at 48 Court Street in Canton, New York.
