Attorney William West Jr. of Winston Salem, NC; thief, repeat offender

The state of North Carolina provided William West Jr. with a law license in 1978.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Billy guilty of the following misconduct.

Billy’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

In one matter, a client hired Billy regarding a Florida probate matter asking that he seek an increase in her monthly payment from the probate assets. At the time she told Billy she was receiving $50,000 a month; however, probate records proved the monthly amount was $85,000.

Several months later the client discovered that Billy was paying himself 22.5% of the $35,000 monthly difference she received despite the fact that he had absolutely nothing to do with her collecting $85,000 per month. Therefore, Billy clearly charged and collected an excessive and illegal fee.

As a consequence of his misconduct the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Billy by gifting him with a third complimentary censure.

Billy’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Engaged in a conflict of interest
• Improperly accepted compensation from one client for fees owed by another client
• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Billy!)
• Knowingly made a false statement of material fact to ethics investigators

As a consequence of his misconduct the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Billy by gifting him with a third complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. July 2016) Billy practices at 3000 Bethesda Place in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
