Attorney Douglas Gansler of Baltimore; ethical gremlin

The state of Maryland presented Douglas Friend Gansler with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the University of Virginia Law School. Doug also received a law license from the District of Columbia in 1990.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Doug guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Doug found it acceptable to make improper out-of-court statements to the press in his capacity as state’s attorney for Montgomery County, Maryland, regarding three criminal prosecutions.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board punished Doug by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2016), Doug continues to be employed by the Maryland Attorney General’s Office at 200 St. Paul Place in Baltimore, Maryland.
