Judge T. Jackson Bedford Jr. of Atlanta, GA; ignoramus, serial scofflaw
The state of Georgia presented T. Jackson Bedford Jr. with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from Emory University Law School.
Georgia Ethics Laws mandate that all judges submit an annual financial disclosure statement wherein the report their income, assets and who gave them money for their political campaigns. Failure to so act provides for a mandatory fine of at least $125.00 for each violation.
When Judge Bedford was informed by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he was in violation of the mandatory reporting rules he responded by saying:
What kind of hyperbolic (BS) defense is this moron attempting to foist upon the taxpayers by stating that “Nobody’s ever notified me” as to the law requiring him to file annual financial disclosure statements.
So here we have yet another Ignoramus whose defense is “ignorance of the law.” As we all know, “ignorance of the law” is not a valid defense; however, in judicial circles its usually a stepping stone to higher office.
And lastly, it should be noticed that Judge Bedford owes and has owed the Ethics Commission $750 in fines (ca. late June 2016) for failing to file six (6) yearly financial disclosure statements. Of course this makes Judge Bedford a Serial Scofflaw.
As we speak (ca. July 2016) Bedford continues to sit as a Cobb County Superior Court judge in Atlanta, Georgia. |
