Judge James Petrucelli of Fresno; arrogant smart-ass,ethical misfit   Judge Petrucelli has unfortunately been sitting on the Superior Court in Fresno, California since 1999. Prior to that he was a Fresno Deputy Sheriff, meaning he’s spent the lion’s share of his adult life porking out at the public trough.
In 2006 the California Judicial Commission filed an ethics complaint against Judge Petrucelli and in May 2007 it found him guilty of the misconduct set forth below.
Petrucelli’s abrasive and abusive responses requesting recusal
On several occasions, when attorneys asked him to withdraw from cases due to bias, etc. he found it acceptable to respond by acting in a manner that befits an arrogant ass-hole. One instance (there’s more) if his woeful conduct is as follows.
 Spousal support Incident re: Mr. and Mrs. Toysrud
In this matter, the wife had an attorney and the husband represented himself. The Toysrud’s divorced after a long marriage following Mr. Toysrud’s affair with a translator while they worked as missionaries in Mongolia.
At the time of the hearing, Mr. Toysrud was married to the Mongolian woman and had returned to his former occupation of selling cars. He testified he earned about $36,000 a year (ca. 2003).
While Mr. Toysrud was testifying about the cause of the affair with the Mongolian woman, Judge Petrucelli interrupted and opined on the record to the possibility that it was “cold and so you needed someone to stay warm with.”
Later Mr. Arrogance said, “You’ve got to be the lowest car salesman … maybe you ought to consider doing something else. I mean, I don’t know of anybody that makes $40,000 selling cars.”
In a sarcastic and belittling fashion, the Smart-Ass then said, “You’ve got new, you wife apparently. That’s wonderful. Is it the Mongolian lady I hope … Did she make it back? … Okay … so she made it to America. I hope you’re happy. We should all be happy.”
Petrucelli’s repeat visits to the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree
This wasn’t Jimmy Baby’s first bit at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. In 2001 he received a complimentary advisory letter for his aberrant and vindictive behavior when he was asked to remove himself from a case.
In 2002 Jimmy received another useless advisory letter regarding disqualification and disclosure to an attorney employed by his former law firm, and an incident wherein he raised his voice at county employees who had inadvertently deleted Internet folders (doesn’t say if it was Jimmy’s copy of Debbie does Riverside) while installing new software on his chamber’s computer. Jimmy then accused the staff of calling him a “liar.”
Jimmy’s Hyperbolic (BS) Comment on his judicial responsibilities
While running for re-election in 2010, Jimmy had the chutzpah to make the following BS statement:
“The courtroom belongs to the people and it is my responsibility to protect it from abuse.” Is this buffoon (my apologies to buffoons) a certified loser or what?
 For his third trip to the Misfit Apple tree, the enablers at the Judicial Commission gifted Jimmy with a complimentary admonishment. Whewee, I bet that hurt!
As of this date (Feb 2011) this certified loser remains on the bench in Fresno. How disgusting!! |
