Liberty Counsel's Mat Staver: Today’s “Screwball” Award Winner
Congratulations to….
Liberty Counsel's Mat Staver Today’s “Screwball” Award Winner This isn’t the first Award presented to Mat. In the past, he has been the recipient of nineteen (19) Awards in various categories. Those awards are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by going to the listed categories.
Mat Staver is the loser attorney who is the founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, which is made up of a group of disgusting homophobic bigots. In the past, Mat the Bigot represented fellow bigot Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis who refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples under by claiming she had a right to discriminate because of her religious views. Put simply, Kim said “God told me to discriminate against members of the gay community.”
This time around, Staver is representing former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, a fellow homophobic bigot. After Justice Moore ordered Alabama probate judges to not issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples because they didn’t have to follow U.S. Supreme Court rulings, he was removed from the bench by the Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission.
It should be noted that this is the second time that Moore has been removed from the bench for violating orders emanating from a federal judge to remove a 4,000-pound granite monument of the Ten Commandments from the lobby of the Alabama Supreme Court building.
In late May 2016, Staver filed a lawsuit in federal court wherein he laughingly claimed that the Judicial Commission lacked the legal authority to remove Moore from his positions as Chief Justice. Towards that end, Mat said:
Evidence of Staver’s monumental ignorance is the fact that the Alabama Supreme Court did in fact agree with the Judicial Commission’s order to remove Justice Moore. Mat the Moron (M&M) went on to say:
It shouldn’t take long for the federal judge assigned to this case to tell Staver to take a hike. His argument is pure BS since the federal court’s do not have jurisdiction over how Alabama disciplines its judges.
Hopefully, when the federal judge tosses this asinine case, it will order that Staver personally pay the legal expenses and costs incurred by the Judicial Commission.
Apparently, when Staver attended the University of Kentucky Law School they didn’t offer courses regarding the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that stated the federal government only possesses those powers delegated to it by the constitution. It goes on to state that all remaining powers are reserved for the states or the people.
In short, the federal courts are powerless to intervene in state judicial discipline proceedings.
Congrats Mat; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Screwballs”; you are far too humble.
