Attorney Sheldon Shapiro of Ft. Lauderdale; misogynist, Il Duce Wannabee

 
Unfortunately, the Florida Supreme Court gifted Sheldon Shapiro with a law license in Nov 1972. 
 
Previously Sheldon Shapiro sat as a District Court judge in Broward County. In early 2004, Judge Shapiro was forced to resign from the bench after being charged with misconduct by the Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission. That misconduct is set forth below.
  1. Demanded a female prosecutor try a case when she was eight months pregnant, forcing her to violate her doctor’s orders
  2. Ordered another female prosecutor to show up and try a criminal case even through her physician had ordered her to bed with suspected pneumonia
  3. While he held sidebar conferences in a small room behind his bench, he would cuss out lawyers
  4. During one trial, he admonished all lawyers to not excuse a particular female juror, who he deemed was easy on his eyes
  5. During a bond hearing for a motorcyclist who killed a child and left the scene, he refused to hear from the child’s mother by saying, “Whatarguing a sexual battery case, he cut him off and pushed a button on a toy that made the sound of a toilet flushing [To bad someone didn’t invent a similar toy that would have flushed the likes of Sheldon down the toilet!]
  6. On several occasions he kicked lawyers out of his courtroom by falsely claiming they were talking when the record proved they weren’t
According to the Judicial Commission’s findings, Judge Sheldon Shapiro’s misconduct included autocratic (despotic) and intemperate behavior, insulting, chastising, belittling and berating attorneys in demeaning, sarcastic and profane language. And these were just a few of Judge Sheldon’s finer Judicial Attributes!
 
For his outrageous conduct, the enablers on the Judicial Commission provided Shapiro with a complimentary reprimand.
 
To be excruciatingly fair to Il Duce which is my wont, he agreed to get psychological counseling regarding his misogynistic behavior from O. J. Simpson.
 
While we speak (ca. Jan 2011) this loser continues to practice law in the Ft. Lauderdale area. What an unmitigated joke!
