Judge Kelvin D. Black of Shelby, NC; ethical dwarf, lazy

Judge Kelvin Black is yet another lazy loser sitting on the bench in North Carolina that finds it acceptable to not issue rulings on pending cases in a timely fashion. However, Judge Black has no trouble in collecting his undeserved salary for failing to perform the duties the taxpayers of North Carolina pay him to do.

Unfortunately for the citizens of Shelby, North Carolina, Judge Black sits on the General Court of Justice.

On June 10, 2008 through the 11th and completed on July 30, Judge Black presided over a trial on the issue of equitable distribution of funds. On July 1, 2008, a status hearing as to the entry of an order regarding the evidentiary hearing was held.

During the period beginning on September 30, 2009 until May 5, 2010, counsel for the plaintiff filed 6 Notice of Hearings to obtain an entry of an order on the July 30, 2008 evidentiary hearing.

During the period of time the order was outstanding (August 2008), the parties received numerous assurances (all lies) from Judge Black that the order was close to completion. However, the order was not filed in the matter until July 13, 2010, which was nearly 2 years after it was due.

The apologists on the North Carolina Judicial Commission punished Judge Black for his deleterious and unwarranted conduct by issuing him a complimentary reprimand. In doing so, the Commission had the chutzpah to state:

“The Commission views such delay as serious misconduct because of the adverse consequences on individual litigants, who are deprived of the opportunity to have their claims decided in a timely manner, and on confidence in the administration of justice [what confidence?]. Such circumstances compel the Commission to act in order to ensure that the public is protected from the deleterious effects of unwarranted delays.”

Clearly, the members of this worthless Commission missed their calling as standup comedians.

As we speak (ca. Jan 2011), Judge Black continues to sit on the bench. What a loser!!
