Fox News; Charles Payne: Today’s “Bullshit” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Fox News' Charles Payne

Today’s “Bullshit”Award Winner

During a recent (early April 2016) appearance on the Fox Business News’ Comedy Network’s Your World with Comedian Neil Cavuto; Charlie and guest comedian Trish Regan attacked unions by laughingly claiming that raising the minimum wage ($7.25) would destroy job creation in America.

During the comedy show, Charlie the Comic and Trish engaged in the following back and forth.

CHARLIE:  “Here’s the problem with that [raising the minimum wage]. It's been proven that these higher minimum wages actually destroy job creation and also, the American public has spoken, and they have rejected unionization.”

TRISH:  “And to reject it. I mean, you see this in so many non-union shops. They have the opportunity to unionize and you know what? Time and time again, they don't do it's because they know, Basil, they know they will make more money if they actually have a market-influenced place for their wages. They also know that they get a better shot at keeping that job if it's not unionized because it makes it so much harder for American companies to compete.”

Of course it goes without saying that Cavuto, Charlie and/or Trish have actually worked for a living in the recent past and they certainly are not being paid the current minimum wage of $7.25.

These three anti-union and minimum wage losers’ argument that any increase in the American minimum wage of $7.25 would devastate the job market is pure bunk as is their argument that unions are causing American jobs due to high wages. Put simply, these three clowns are arguing that Americans can’t compete with foreigners because we’re paid to much.

The “Americans are paid to much” argument is proven false when compared with the wages and/or minimum wages from countries that have caused millions of jobs to be lost in the U.S. of A. in the auto, clothing, shoe making, carpet and computer industries. Those wages that the Clowns claim we need to compete with are set forth in the table below.

It is indeed a shame that lazy Americans refuse to work for $1.00 or $1.50 an hour. Until they come to their senses, they’ll never be able to compete with these countries.

Lastly, an American worker earning $1.50 an hour would have disposable weekly income of $60, meaning there’s no reason he couldn’t afford to buy a couple cases of Heinekens or Corona every week.
