Today’s “Public Official Misfit” is Youngstown Mayor John McNally

In mid-February 2016, Mayor John McNally of Youngstown, Ohio entered into a plea agreement on multiple political corruption charges involving a property deal he was involved in while he was employed as a Mahoning County Commissioner.

The sweetheart plea deal (reserved on elected officials only) allows Johnny to remain in offices as Mayor. The conspiracy, bribery and perjury charges originally lodged against Johnny were all felonies.

Under Ohio law, a felony conviction prohibits any crook from convict from holding a public office for seven (7) years. Do you think banks in Ohio rehire cashiers convicted of theft after seven years have passed?

Prosecutors said that Johnny was part of a scheme to inflate the cost of moving the Mahoning County Jobs and Family Services office from a rental property to benefit a local friend and business owner.

Who was the Dumbo that said crime doesn’t pay? It sure as hell paid off for Johnny!

Johnny is now facing an 18-month stretch in the joint. Hopefully the sentencing judge will send Johnny packing off to the Youngstown Supermax prison and order he be roomed up with Clarice (real name Clarence). It’s rumored that Clarice is one of the most friendliest guys in the prison.

Congrats Johnny; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Public Official Misfits”; you are far too humble.
