Attorney Walter Stephenson II of Nashville; lying repeat offender

The state of Tennessee provided Walter Henning Stephenson II with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from the University of Tennessee Law School.

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Walt guilty of the following misconduct.

After the conclusion of a civil case wherein Walt represented the defendant, he sent a letter to one of the plaintiff's witnesses accusing the witness of making false and malicious statements. The letter went on to state that his client will accept the $19,500 "to settle" or his client would have "no other alternative than to pursue the issue in the proper forum.”

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Walt by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
