Attorney Barry Levine of Erie, PA; congenital liar
The state of Pennsylvania presented Dennis Joseph Spyra with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from the Washington College of Law.
The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Barry guilty of the following misconduct.
-
Lied to staff member that Judge Domitrovich had signed a petition approving settlement for his minor client for $20,000
-
Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
-
Forged Domitrovich’s signature on the petition when the judge refused to do so because the matter had not been filed with the Motions Court
-
Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
-
Knowingly presented to Judge Domitrovich “Motion to Reconfirm Settlement Approval” in regard to his minor client’s claims that he knew to be false
-
Charged with two counts of forgery and two counts of tampering with records or identification by the Erie County DA’s office
-
Knowingly offered evidence he knew to be materially false
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Barry by gifting him with a complimentary 5-year suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. March 2016), Barry practices at 938 West 52nd Street in Erie, Pennsylvania.
