Lucas County Ohio GOP Chairman Jon Stainbrook; apologis for unethical judges  Jon Stainbrook is the acting chairman of the Lucas County GOP in Toledo, Ohio.
On October 7, 2010, the Toledo Blade published a story titled: “Top county Democrat blasts GOP judge.” The judge was none other than retired visiting Judge Stephen Yarbrough who is the Republican candidate for a seat on the 6th District Court of Appeals which sits in Toledo and hears cases from Erie, Fulton, Huron, Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, Williams and Wood Counties.
With the massive media and/or internet stories/exposes dealing with Judge Yarbrough’s 14-year record of highly unethical conduct in billing for hours never worked or for travel expenses he did not incur, it would virtually impossible for Jon Stainbrook to be ignorant of these reported facts.
Obviously, the chairman of the GOP in Toledo or elsewhere is primarily concerned with electing Republicans to office. However, when the chairman is fully aware that someone is totally unfit to sit on the Court of Appeals then he/she has both an ethical and moral obligation to not support such a candidate.
I’ve been a registered Republican both in Ohio and California for nearly 50 years (a Eisenhower/Rockefeller type if ya will) and in good conscience I have and will continue to refuse to support a Republican candidate for any office when his/her official public record proves they are unfit to sit in judgment of any Ohioan.
To suggest and/or argue that Judge Stephen Yarbrough is a crook would be unfair to crooks!
It is indeed a sad commentary on the state of the Republican Party in the greater Toledo, Ohio area that its Chairman would unabashedly and unashamedly support someone of Judge Yarbrough’s ilk to sit on the Court of Appeals.
Shame on your Mr. Stainbrook!!! Hopefully you'll reconsider your support for Judge Yarbrough. After all Mr. Stainbrook it would be the ethical thing to do given his horrendous records of bilking the public, right?
