The state of Arkansas presented Charles Dwain Oliver with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from the University of Arkansas Law School.

 

The Committee on Professional Conduct found Charlie guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Charlie’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to timely file appellate brief on client’s behalf
  • Knowingly disobeyed obligation owed to judiciary
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to comply with court rules
  • Failed to respond to client information requests
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to abide by client decisions re: representation

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary caution.

 

Charlie’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Used means merely intended to harass or burden another person
  • Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client interests when fired
  • Failed to respond to client information requests

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary caution.

 

Charlie’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary caution.
