Attorney David Saldana of Racine, WI; serial drunk driver
The state of Wisconsin presented David Saldana with a law license in 1984.
The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Dave guilty of the following misconduct.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Dave by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. March 2016), Dave practices with the Law Office of David Saldana at 217 ½ Sixth Street in Racine, Wisconsin.
In one matter ,the Mount Pleasant police were summoned to a restaurant to investigate a report of an intoxicated party who was sitting in a running vehicle. Upon arrival, the police officer observed Dave sitting in a running vehicle the restaurant’s parking lot. The officer then knocked on the window, awoke Dave, and ordered him to roll down the window.
Dave was incapable of locating the power window button. The officer then opened the door and ordered Dave out of the car. The officer then observed had food all over his lap and he noticed a slight odor of intoxicants. The Officer ordered Saldana to exit the vehicle. As Saldana exited the vehicle, the Officer smelled a stronger odor of intoxicants and noticed he had difficulty walking.
Subsequently, Dave had a conversation with the Office and stated: “Five grand no questions asked, I am not trying to bribe you or anything.” While speaking to another Officer, Dave stated that he had $1,000.00 or $2,000.00 on hand.
Dave was later convicted and sentenced to 60 days in jail along with having his driver’s license revoked for 2 years.
As one would suspect, this wasn’t Dave’s first DUI conviction, In fact, it was his fourth conviction.
