Attorney Howard Mitz of Mequon, WI; congenital liar

The state of Wisconsin presented Howard B. Mitz with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from Chicago-Kent Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Howie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to notify lender of client’s $100,000 settlement
• Distributed proceeds of $100,000 settlement w/o paying client’s lender
• Lied to lender that he had not perfected $100,000 settlement
• Further lied to lender that $100,000 was in his trust account and no fund had yet been distributed to anyone
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Howie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2016), Howie practices with Howard B. Mitz LLC at 11124 North Cedarburg Road in Mequon, Wisconsin.
