Attorney Mary Lehmann of Binghamton, NY; ethical gremlin

The state of New York presented Mary A. Lehmann with a law license in 1984 after she graduated from the Albany Law School.

Mary’s misconduct occurred while she was serving as a Judge of the Binghamton City Court in Broome County, which led the Judicial Commission to find her guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Mary found it acceptable to permit attorneys from the law firm of her part-time co-judge to appear before her, contrary to New York Law and court rules.

In addition, Mary failed to disqualify herself from cases in which the law firm representing her before the Commission appeared as her counsel. In some instances, she failed to disclose the obvious conflict of interest.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Mary by gifting her with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. February 2016) Mary practices at 128 Helen Street in Binghamton, New York.
