Attorney Jeffrey Smith of Long Beach, CA; ethical gremlin

The state of California provided Jeffrey Bryan Smith with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from Southwestern University Law School.

The California Bar Court found Jeff guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to negotiate/resolve credit card debt on client’s behalf
  • Failed to respond to over 15 client inquires
  • Failed to take steps to avoid foreseeable prejudice to client after being fired
  • Failed to promptly return $1,500 in unearned fees (cheater)
  • Failed to provide accounting to client
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Jeff!)

As a consequence of his misconduct the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Jeff by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year term of probation.

Because Attorney Misfits in California are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Mike was never criminally charged with perjury.

As we speak (ca.  February 2016), Jeff practices with Curd Galindo & Smith LLP at 301 East Ocean Blvd in Long Beach, California.
