Attorney Stephen Holton of Lexington, NC; ethical leprechaun

The state of North Carolina provided Stephen C. Holton with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from Wake Forest University Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to reconcile his trust account
• Failed to render written accountings for entrusted funds
• Maintained inadequate trust account documentation
• Delegated trust account to non-lawyer assistant
• Failed to properly supervise office staff
• Lack of supervision led to employee embezzlement of entrusted funds

As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2016) Stevie practices with Holton & Holton at 115 West Center Street in Lexington, North Carolina.
