Attorney Thomas Smith of Jackson, TN; ethical dwarf

The state of Tennessee presented Thomas Verner Smith law license in 1986 after he graduated from Samford University Law School.

The Tennessee State Bar Association found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in a conflict of interest
• Engaged in a business transaction with his client
• Failed to advise client of inherent conflict of interest

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.
