Attorney David Bartz of Madison, WI; thief, repeat offender

The state of Wisconsin presented David J. Bartz with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from Arizona State University Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Dave guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Paid six checks to himself rather than pay client’s doctor bill
  • Failed to advise client law license suspended for failing to pay annual dues
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Dave!)
  • Misappropriated (stole) client funds

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Dave’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Dave by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. December 2015), Dave practices with the Bartz Law Office at 14 West Mifflin Street in Madison, Wisconsin.
