Attorney Nam Dao of Seattle; ethical leprechaun

The state of Wisconsin presented Nam D. Dao with a law license in 2009 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Nam guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to deposit advance fees into client trust account
  • Failed to hold advance fees in trust account until earned
  • Failed to advise client of available options after patent application rejected
  • Failed to explain matters to the client so that he could made informed decisions about the representation
  • Failed to provide requested information to client
  • Failed to forward copy of file client to file
  • Failed to provide confirmation of law license status
  • Engaged in the illegal practice of law while license suspended

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Nam by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2015), Nam practices in Seattle, Washington.
