DA William Porter of Tillamook OR; Today’s Public Official Misfit

The state of Oregon presented William Bryan Porter with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans Law School.

The Oregon State Bar found Billy guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he as the Tillamook County District Attorney.

In one matter, Billy failed to turn over evidence to a defense attorney that he was lawfully required to do. The evidence concealed by Billy was construed to have helped the defendant better prepare his defense in a murder case.

Of course it goes without saying that Billy was obviously more interested in placing another notch on his conviction belt then he was in complying with the oath he took to dispense justice and “dispense with it.”

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (January 2016), Billy continues to be employed as a Tillamook County Assistant District Attorney in Tillamook, Oregon.
