Attorney James Piazza Sr. of Des Moines; ethical gremlin

The state of Iowa presented James P. Piazza with a law license in 1967 after he graduated from Drake University Law School.

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to deposit client funds in trust account
  • Failed to render accounting to client
  • Failed to maintain books and records as required
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a second complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2016), Jimmy practices with the James P. Piazza Law Office at 2600 Grand Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa.
