The state of Tennessee presented Brian Campbell Smith with a law license in 1969 after he graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School.

The Board of Professional Responsibility found Brian guilty of the following misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Brian by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
