Today’s “Moron” Award Winner

Tanya Robertson is a member of the Texas State Republican Party. She recently (late November 2015) introduced a resolution calling for Texas to secede from the United States

Tanya represents parts of Harris, Galveston and Brazoria counties. She said she’ll present the resolution at the committee’s December 4, 2015 meeting in Austin. She went on to say that she already has the support of several other members.She went on to laughingly say: (Houston Chronicle)

• “There’s been a big groundswell of Texans that are getting into the Texas independence issue."
• "I believe conservatives in Texas should have a choice to voice their opinion.”

If Texas did secede, they’d be doing all of the other states a big favor since it would mean the U.S. government would immediately close Fort Bliss, Fort Hood, Fort Sam Houston, and the Laughlin and Lackland air bases. I can assure you that California would be more than happy to reopen bases to accommodate said closings.

Even better for U.S. Taxpayers, we’d no longer have to foot the bill to enforce the Texas/Mexican border nor would we be paying for Air Traffic Controllers, FBI offices and Federal courts.

The savings would be huge for all of the taxpayers in the other 49 states. On the other hand, Texans would likely go broke picking up the tab to replace for the lost jobs and services.

Since California is the largest state by population and New York is third, I think it would be much fairer if we let the voters in those two states vote to kick Texas out of the Union.

Congrats Tanya; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Morons”; you are far too humble.
