Attorney Hugh Nowell of Marietta, GA; lying loser

The state of Georgia presented Hugh O. Nowell with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from the Woodrow Wilson Law School.

The Georgia State Bar found Hugh guilty of the following misconduct.

• Testified falsely in two depositions (perjury)
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court punished Hugh by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension of his law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in Georgia are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Hugh was never criminally charged with perjury.
