Attorney Murray Richman of Bronx, NY; apologist for crooked attorneys, moron

New York City attorney has taken on the job of criminally defending attorney Michael Lippman, an infamous crook who defrauded numerous decedent estates and their heirs to the tune of about $2 million over the past several years.

Mr. Murray Richman had the gall to say, “There is no basis for the charges. The alleged thefts took place before guidelines set in 2002 by the Administrative Board of the Office of the Public Administrators were adopted. “

Now ya gotta be one bit time moron (an I.Q. less than the legal speed limit in a school zone) to argue that prior to 2002 the State of New York had a policy that allowed attorneys to defraud decedent estates. The criminal statutes regarding theft and/or fraud have been on the books in New York for well over 100 years.

Apparently, Murray Richman would have us believe that New York criminal statutes on theft and fraud exempted crooked lawyers from defrauding their clients.

Taking chutzpah to new and as yet unseen levels, Mr. Richman also made the following hyperbolic (BS) statements.

The Bronx district attorney’s office was meddling in a lawyer’s ability to run his business.
“It puts a chilling effect on all attorneys charging fees because the district attorney has the opportunity to look over what fees can be charged,” Richman said. (NY Post)

I suppose that attorney Murray Richman would also be more than willing to put forth the following defenses on behalf of some of our more celebrated citizens in regards to the DA meddling in their businesses.
  • It would put a chilling effect on the “vig” (interest) Genovese mobster Anthony Antico collects
  • It would have put a chilling effect on the menu options Jeffrey Dahmer offered to his dinner guests (hear tell Jeff’s rump roast recipe is out of this world!)
  • It would have put a chilling effect on the fees charged by the whores that serviced ex-New York State Governor Eliot Spitzer
I’ll admit that every criminal defendant is entitled to a vigorous defense; however, spewing forth the BS that Mr. Richman has offered is absurd.

I’m sure that Mr. Richman isn’t working pro bono. I’m even more confident that any fees he’s already received from Michael Lippman represent monies he defrauded from various estates, a fact that Mr. Richman is fully aware of.
